LTQA is pleased to announce three upcoming virtual events in November and December 2020!
LTQA Webinar: Advancing Non-Medical Supplemental Benefits in Medicare Advantage
December 4, 11 am – 12:15 pm ET
The introduction of Special Supplemental Benefits for the Chronically Ill (SSBCI) and the expanded definition of “primarily health-related” supplemental benefits (PHRB) has given Medicare Advantage (MA) plans increased flexibility in 2020 to offer non-medical supplemental benefits, and to target them to members with chronic conditions. What opportunities and roadblocks exist for MA plans and providers as offerings of non-medical supplemental benefits increase in light of these changes? What are MA plan considerations for the 2021 bid process? What short- and long-term policy opportunities exist enhance the availability of non-medical supplemental benefits to Medicare beneficiaries and to increase benefit utilization?
Join LTQA and ATI Advisory for a webinar on Friday, December 4 to learn more about findings from analyses of publicly available CMS data and interviews with MA plans and providers, and to hear from key stakeholders on opportunities to advance non-medical supplemental benefits going forward.

LTQA November Coffee Hour: Advancing Integration to Better Serve Dual Eligible Beneficiaries During the COVID-19 Pandemic
November 17, 11 am – 12 pm ET
Individuals who are dually eligible for Medicare and Medicaid have been disproportionately affected by the COVID-19 pandemic due to intersecting risk factors experienced by this population. On top of this, individuals who are dually eligible for Medicare and Medicaid must navigate not one but two complex insurance systems in order to receive care. In this LTQA Coffee Hour, Allison Rizer of ATI Advisory will share new research on the impact of COVID-19 on the dually eligible population and how Medicare-Medicaid integration could better serve this population.
This presentation will be followed by LTQA member sharing and a community discussion of opportunities to advance integrated care in 2021.
This event is open to members of the LTQA community. Please register here.
LTQA December Coffee Hour: State Experiences with Long-Term Services and Supports (LTSS) during the COVID-19 Pandemic
December 14, 2-3 pm ET
The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted LTSS delivery in both institutional settings and home- and community-based settings (HCBS), raising questions around what the future of LTSS will look like. In this LTQA Coffee Hour, Camille Dobson from ADvancing States and Mary Sowers from NASDDDS will explore the challenges States have experienced with regard to LTSS delivery during the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as strategies States have used to mitigate these challenges.
Following the presentation, LTQA members will then be invited share their work in this space and to discuss opportunities to advance LTSS at the State level in 2021.
